Expanded PTFE is a naturally clean and non-toxic material, meeting FDA standards, making this material popular choice in the food and drug industries. Naturally pliable, Expanded PTFE makes an excellent flange gasket. Expanded PTFE offers exceptional mechanical strength for gasketing. It also offers tremendous resistance to chemicals, including harsh acids.

What is Expanded PTFE?
Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) is a thermoplastic fluoropolymer – utilized across a broad spectrum of industries. Expanded PTFE takes the same properties expected of PTFE but in the form of a malleable, soft sheet. Blaylock’s expanded PTFE products are 100% pure and multi-directionally expanded. Along the way, exceptional, dimensionally stable gaskets with minimal creep can be crafted. Our ePTFE does not discolor of contaminate the end product. This material also:
- Complies to FDA regulations for food contact and EU 1935/2004
- Offers 0-14 pH compatibility
- Meets approvals of TA-Luft / Blow-Out-Test VDI 2200 / FDA / USP Plastic Class VI / WRc / BAM / AREVA

EXPANDED PTFE SHEETS & GASKETS
Available in a wide variety of thicknesses, our 60” X 60” sheets of Expanded PTFE are available in full sheet, or cut to your specific size. Over the years, we have cut thousands of gaskets and other parts from ePTFE, including large flange gaskets that can be dovetailed to fit flanges much larger than 60”.

MULTI-DIRECTIONAL EXPANDED PTFE TAPE
The tape offers excellent malleability – and is particularly well-suited to compensate for irregularities or damages on the sealing areas, as well as for all stress-sensitive joints. This material offers:
- quick and simple installation, no cutting or punching necessary
- the ability to easily remove the used gasket without leaving any deposits on the sealing areas

100 % Monoaxial Expanded PTFE
Because of the excellent thermal and chemical resistance of this tape, it can be used in a wide variety of static applications in nearly all kinds of the industry. The exceptional malleability of expanded PTFE can compensate for out-of parallel and/or damaged sealing surfaces and allows use with stress sensitive connections and applications where only a limited flange load is available.
Typical applications are the sealing of flanges, pump housings, compressors, hand- and manholes, air ducts, compensators, heat exchangers and many more.
