Silicone Gasket Material

Blaylock Gasket & Packing stocks a variety of different styles of silicone and silicone sponge.  Materials include Commercial grade and White FDA Silicone and medium density sponge.  Silicone can generally operate between -80° to 450° F with intermittent temperature spikes to 500°F. Silicone can be created in any color, but is mainly found in red, white, gray and occasionally blue. BG&P’s commercial grade silicone is red in color. Silicone can also be reinforced with a fiberglass cloth insert.

Silicone is renowned for high tensile strength, elongation, compressibility, tear resistance and lower compression set. Fungus and water resistant.

Commercial Grade Silicone

Commercial Grade silicone sheeting is designed to be used in applications where physical properties are not critical but extreme temperature resistance is still needed. Material is available in 25-80 Durometer in many colors. Sheet thickness ranges from 0.010" to 1" thick. Available width is up to 72" wide. Medical Grade

This premium grade silicone is used in health care applications. The base silicone polymer has been tested to meet USP Class 6 standards. This material is low volatile, peroxide free, platinum cured, and does not discolor over time. The ingredients used to make this product are also listed in CFR 177.2600. This FDA regulation deals with rubber articles intended for repeated use in contact with food. This material is ozone and UV resistant, and is an excellent gasketing material. It is available in 30-80 Durometer.

We provide materials to customers who engineer or fabricate products for health care applications. Health care applications are defined as after sale uses such as medical devices, dental and optical applications, pharmaceutical production and/or delivery systems. We do not promote the use of our materials in which our material is implanted into the body. The above values are typical properties and are provided for information only.
