Blaylock Gasket Founder Arnold Blaylock Passes Away

Blaylock Gasket & Packing founder Arnold Blaylock, 92, passed away March 2, 2025, in Fort Worth, Texas, after a brief illness. He founded Blaylock Industries in 1983, four years after coming out of retirement. At Blaylock Industries, now Blaylock American Metal, he began casting aluminum thief hatches, which naturally needed gaskets. And so, the gasket division of Blaylock Industries was born, with gaskets being cut on a clicker in Arnold’s dairy barn in Granbury, Texas. Blaylock Gasket & Packing evolved into its own entity in 1994, becoming yet another company in and around Fort Worth founded, nurtured and set up for success by Arnold Blaylock.

 In addition to Blaylock Industries and BG&P, he also partnered up to establish A&B Equipment (which still operates in Fort Worth over 50 years later) and Lectric Lites, which eventually sold out to United Rentals. He fully retired back to Granbury in 1997. However, he still enjoyed stopping by the gasket shop, including a 2024 visit for a total eclipse viewing party in BG&P’s front yard.

An astute businessman, Arnolds’ true love was his family – especially his grandkids and great-grandkids. His grandson Jeff, current owner and operator of Blaylock Gasket, is generation number three running BG&P.  Arnold was proud of this family business. He will be terribly missed.
