What is Silicone Rubber?
Formulated from a mixture of synthetic compounds, Blaylock’s sold silicone products are made with material designed to resist ozone, UV, oxidization and high heat applications. There are countless substances where silicone gaskets offer premier sealing capabilities. As you might expect, many silicone materials are FDA compliant to 21 CFR 177.2600. Odds are, you have silicone products in your kitchen at home.
What are the advantages of Blaylock Silicone?
- TEMPERATURE RESITANCE: Solid silicone rubber can handle an exceptionally wide temperature spectrum: from -80 to 450F, with the ability to handle higher temperature spurts. Our team can help you manage expectations for higher heat resistance.
- VERSATILITY: We stock dozens of silicone materials in a variety of thicknesses, colors and hardnesses. We have FDA material, fiberglass reinforce material, metal detectable material and more. Plus, we can make product to your exact gauge, durometer, color and specification. We are your source for custom silicone projects.
- AVAILABILITY: We stock it, and if we don’t, odds are our exceptional suppliers do. We can get you quality silicone product in an expedient and economical manner.

Types of Silicone Products
Over the years, we have made products from hundreds of silicone materials. The below represent a number of our standard, off the shelf options.
COMMERCIAL SPEC-GRADE GRADE SILICONE
Our most economical Silicone still meets the stringent specs required by engineers. Simply put, we offer Silicone at an exceptional price without lowering standards. Our silicones meets ZZR-765 (2A, 2B) and A-A-59588. Furthermore, depending on the durometer, our silicones meet:
- 40 DURO Silicone meets AMS 3301
- 50 DURO Silicone meets AMS 3302
- 60 DURO Silicone meets AMS 3303
- 70 DURO Silicone meets AMS 3304
- 80 DURO Silicone meets AMS 3305

| COLOR | DUROMETER | TEMPERATURE | THICKNESS |
| Red, Black, Grey & Custom | 25-80 and Custom | -80-450F with ability to handle higher temps in shorter spurts | 1/64” to 1” |
These numbers are a general guide and are subject to change at any time. Our team offers materials to meet any project. If you have special requirements for things like color, tensile, temperature, durometer, etc, please reach out to our team. Just because material listed doesn’t meet your spec does not meet it is not available.

For specific application recommendations consult Blaylock Gasket. Failure to select proper sealing products could result in property damage and/or serious personal injury.
FOOD GRADE SILICONE
Our FDA Silicone is manufactured with FDA white list ingredients per FDA Title 21 of CFR177.2600. It is non-marking and a popular choice in food and pharmaceutical applications. High temperature applications in the kitchen and the lab rely on our beautiful FDA silicone.

FDA METAL DETECTABLE SILICONE
Our FDA Metal Detectable Silicone can be picked up by integrated metal detectors on the production line. Food and drug manufacturers utilize this material when delays created by erosion of the seal would be cost prohibitive. Basically, impregnation of particles able to be identified by metal detectors ensure quarantine of foreign sela fragments don’t shut the line down for extended timeframes. Foreign material can be quickly identified and removed. Material is manufactured with FDA white list ingredients per FDA Title 21 of CFR177.2600

FLUOROSILICONE
Traditional silicone rubber is not a good choice with many fuels and solvents. Blaylock’s fluorosilicone offers many of the benefits of silicone with added fuel, oil and solvent resistance provided by fluorocarbons. Primarily used in static sealing applications, fluorosilicone is a popular choice for aerospace, fuel emission controls and more. Available in sheet form, extruded or molded to shape. Our material meets AMS 3325.This material is also referenced by its ASTM designation FVMQ.
